Announcing an Online Professional Development Training Opportunity for Faculty, Staff, Counselors, & Program Coordinators “The Road Home…From Combat to College and Beyond” How Your Campus Can Better Serve Student Veterans
Date: Friday, Feb 10, 2012. Time: 1:00p.m. - 3:00p.m.

Catherine Morris, Veterans Counselor and event coordinator of “The Road Home…From Combat to College and Beyond” held at Sierra College in 2007, and Jarrett Blake, Iraq War Vet and Sierra College student will present a webinar designed to highlight the unique set of experiences and challenges facing returning war veterans as they transition into our community colleges, and the vital role that colleges can play in fostering their health and success both in and outside of the classroom. Also addressed in this presentation will be specific steps colleges can take, military competency, and best practices learned from years of experience.

Participants will gain access to the Power Point presentation used in the Webinar, which in turn can be used for training sessions at colleges across the state. Detail on how to obtain the presentation slides in PDF format will be made available during the Webinar.
